Christmas Newsletter

We are nearing the end of the autumn term at Lewes Fencing Club (LFC). We hope you have enjoyed your fencing with us and have learnt new moves at the same time. Please read on for the latest Club news.

Extra Club session on 16th December

This Sunday (9th December) was due to be the last official club day so we could free up Sunday 16th December for an LFC competition. However, due to extra bookings at the leisure centre, we have had to postpone the competition until the new year. Instead we will be holding an extra Club session from 10am- 12noon – so if you want to use up a bit of pre-Christmas energy please come along. If you are a full member (pay per term) the cost of this extra session will be £5 per Junior, £6 per adult. If you pay as you go then normal prices apply.

Free advice on equipment purchases

If you’ve asked for fencing kit this Christmas, then you might like to check out the equipment information on our website at http://e24.fba.mytemp.website/your-club/kit/ Alternative you can speak to someone at the club about choosing the right purchases for you. Remember LFC members can get 10% off equipment at Allstar Fencing http://www.allstar-fencing.co.uk/home.asp so don’t forget to mention our name when buying.

Term dates for 2013

Our new term starts on Sunday 6th January – just enough time for the turkey to go down 🙂 – and will run for 12 weeks finishing on Sunday 24th March. We are freezing fees for the term so the full price for the 12 weeks will be £60 for Juniors (and those in full-time education) and £72 for Adults. This price makes LFC one of the most affordable fencing clubs around, offering excellent value for money with access to our highly qualified coach Gerad Harmer and loan of equipment (subject to our kit policy). Fees can be paid from 9th December onwards and prompt payment is always appreciated.

Beginners Courses in Spring 2013

We will be holding beginners courses for both Adults and Juniors early next year. If you have any friends or relatives who may be interested get them to drop us an email via enquiries@lewesfencingclub.org.uk.

Thank you for your support

We would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped out and volunteered their time this year – we couldn’t run the Club without this support. More help is always appreciated so if you have any time or expertise you think the club could benefit from please come and talk to us.

Finally a big thank you to all the fencers, big and small. The club has only been running for a year and we think its one of the friendliest clubs around. Its great to be running a club full of enthusiastic and welcoming members.

Whatever your plans this Christmas we hope you have a merry time and a great New Year.

Best wishes,

The Committee
