Spring Newsletter

Hi,

March is here and there’s a spring in the step of Lewes Fencing Club members -it’s good to see that enthusiasm for Fencing hasn’t dampened over the winter months.
This enthusiasm was very evident in the friendly inter-club competition we ran in February. We saw some excellent and well fought fights, some of which were very tense :-D. Congratulations to all the winners (see sidebar). Thanks also to everyone who took time to compete or made time to help out.

Next term and Summer term.
Due to the timing of the Easter and early Summer holiday this year we have planned our Spring and Summer terms to make sure they are not too long or too short!

Our current term finishes on Sunday 30th March. The next Spring term will start straight away and include Sunday 6th and 13th April before stopping for Easter Sunday on 20th April. We will return on the 27th April, 4th May, 11th May and 18th May making this term a total of 6 fencing Sundays. The cost for this Spring term will be £30 for Juniors and £36 for Adults.

The Summer term with then run from Sunday 1st June through to and including 20th July, a total of 8 weeks at £40 for Juniors and £48 for Adults.

You can pay for both terms together or one term at a time. Either way please pay promptly to help us keep our costs down.

Got the Competition Bug?

If you took part in our February competition and want to try out others, then it’s now a good time to have a go with a number of competitions planned across the South East.

Fencers from LFC are likely to go along to some of the more local competitions so if you are interested either look online and or speak to one of the Committee who will be able to help.

Competitions are fun, sociable events and a great way to make friends at other clubs. The Open competitions also tend to have fencing shops on site making it easier for you to try out and purchase equipment.

Be friendly and connect with us.

Our newsletters are just one way to hear from us, you can also be our friend on Facebook and follow us on Twitter so please do connect and stay in touch.

We look forward to seeing you on piste in the very near future.
