What to wear

  • Trainers suitable for indoor sports such as squash or tennis. They should not have black soles, as most leisure centres ban them because they mark the floors.
  • Long trousers such as tracksuit bottoms. Legs must be completely covered; shorts are not acceptable.
  • A T-shirt or similar to wear under the fencing jacket.

Kit is provided

Members who are new to the club are not expected to have their own kit. Our prices include the use of fencing clothing, weapons and equipment. Minis use a plastic weapon and will move to metal as they improve.

Safety

Your coach will take you through how to fence safely. You can read our Equipment Standards & Safety Conduct beforehand.

British Fencing membership

If you join us for a beginners course, a free 90-day introduction membership to British Fencing is available to you. Read more about insurance and British Fencing membership.
