There is much to celebrate at Lewes Fencing Club this May as the community-run sports Club reaches its 5th birthday. The Club, which was founded in 2011 by four local volunteers, has seen its membership grow year on year and is now welcoming over 40 fencers to its regular Sunday morning session at Lewes Leisure Centre. It may now be the biggest fencing club in the South East.

Autumn term dates and prices
The Club starts back on Sunday 6th September.
Dates:
Term 1 – Sunday 6 September – Sunday 18 October
Term 2 – Sunday 1 November – Sunday 13 December
Time: 10am – 12noon
Cost for each term: £42 per adult and £35 per child/student/concession.
PAYG prices: £8 per week for adults and £6 per week for students/concessions. Fencers must have their own equipment and fence on the piste only.
To help us keep our costs and admin time to a minimum please ensure you pay for the term within the first two weeks. Please note 1:1 coaching is only available to members paying termly.
Improve your piste fighting at Wednesday Fight Night
Progress on the piste and develop your competitive skills at our fight night sessions this autumn. These are suitable for fencers who have been fencing on the piste at the Club and have all their own equipment.
Dates are:
Wednesday 9 September – Wednesday 21st October
Wednesday 4 November – Wednesday 16 December
Time: 6.30pm – 8pm
Venue: Southover School gym, Potters Lane, Lewes
Cost: £6 per person
Please note LFC kit or coaching is not provided.
Adult Beginners’ Course – Sunday 11th October
If you have friends or family who are keen to try out fencing then please share details of our fast-track Adult Beginners’ Course.
In one afternoon our experienced and qualified coach, Gerad Harmer, will help beginners learn everything they need to know to get started with Épée fencing. Get to grips with the main steps, gain confidence and have a go at competing. Previous fencing experience is not essential.

Age Range: 12 years and over
All equipment and coaching is provided.
